My first post in a while and the last of 2014! Where has this year gone? I'm going to keep this post short as New Year celebrations are on the horizon so I should probably get out of my pyjamas! It's been difficult to get any shots for my blog recently as it's dark when I leave for work and dark when I return home so with a bit of time off work I managed to get a few snaps. I absolutely love houndstooth and checked patterns, the "Prince of Wales" is almost a combination of the two - a classic pattern that will always be around. I picked up this jacket on Portobello Market in London a few years ago but there are always similar styles popping up on the high street. There's so many variations of this type of pattern it's a great excuse to own a few different pieces! I layered this cosy jumper over a drop hem dress from Asos. The dress is really versatile, I've worn it on nights out with heels or more casually with flat boots (and bonus it's in the sale!) My scarf is Zara, and an update on the two-tone tartan & houndstooth from last year that every store seems to have done a version of this season! Again it's a classic in basic colours that can be worn with pretty much everything. I accessorised with leather demi-gloves and my new Daniel Wellington watch, best Christmas present ever!
Hope you enjoyed my last post of 2014, and I wish you all an amazing 2015! x

It was all yellow...

A bit of a change from my usual black on black, on black! I've added a major pop of colour in one of my favourite ways, a statement coat. You can't beat the feeling of buying new layers and wrapping up warm coming up to winter. My eyes were immediately drawn to the boldness of this coat, the perfect piece for updating your wardrobe without spending a fortune. Once every now and then I pop into Primark to see what hidden gems I can find and this is definitely one of them - only £25 and it comes in a tomato shade too. Go go go! This is likely to be the last cosy outfit I'll be wearing for a while as I am about to jet off for some winter sun! Bye bye England! x

The Midi

I can't believe it's October already! Autumn is well and truly here so I figured now was the perfect time to rock the midi skirt, especially with the indecisive weather we've been having. I wore my textured midi (which by the way has popped up in the sale!) with a basic grey marl tee from Primark. I was really surprised at how nice and soft the fabric of the tee is, especially as it was only £4 - it's the perfect throw on for those days when you just want to be comfortable!

I've been on a bit of a blogging break of late, unintentional but completely unavoidable due to a hectic work schedule.. But I'm back, and I intend on keeping up to date with my posts and the blogging world now things are less cray (cray)! I recently read a brilliant post about how to juggle a blog and a full time career by Media Marmalade, although it's definitely something I am still working on! It's super important not to feel bogged down by your blog and if it becomes less fun and more like a chore then just take a step back and return another day. I've given my blog a new look to help me get back into the swing of things, let me know what you think!

Happy Sunday! x

Since I started my blog in February I have discovered so many new brands, it's definitely one of my favourite aspects of the blogging world. It's safe to say I'm pretty giddy when I check my emails to find new & exciting brands have contacted me, not something I ever expected just a few months down the line. If you see anything that tickles your fancy (which I'm sure you will!) accessoryo are giving my readers 20% off with discount code SF20, so get your lucky selves shopping now! Trench - H&M (similar here) // Top - (Similar here) // Waistcoat - H&M (similar here) //
Jeans - Topshop (similar here) //  Kitten heels - River Island (sale) // Bag - (Similar here)

I never thought the day would come where I'd be happily strolling a long in a kitten heel! I'd developed a bit of a thing against them, until I came across these purrrrfect River Island beautys IN THE SALE! I'm a total sucker for leopard print so these instantly caught my eye! At the tender (and often confusing) age of 24 I feel that my style is definitely maturing. And this absolutely has everything to do with the likes of blogger Maja Wyh and Olivia Palermo with their impeccable classic style, all hail! Don't get me wrong, I love how wearing a higher heel makes you feel, and they definitely arent out of my life, I'm just beginning to adopt a lower more 'grown up' heel to my wardrobe! I dressed my kitten heels down with denim jeans turned up at the cuff, and a staple breton stripe. Layering up with my sleeveless waist coat and light trench, another sale gem I purchased, both from H&M. To complete the look I opted for a bold red lip in my favourite Mac shade, Lady Danger. I love the pop of colour from my lipstick and handbag, feeling a little bit french and sailor-esque!

Top & shorts - Topshop (similar here) // Bag c/o Mi-Pac // Sandals - Primark (in store)

Other than at Glastonbury (or back when I was a school goer) I've never really been a backpack wearer, that was until discovering what Mi-Pac have to offer! With an array of duffels and backpacks in various colours, prints, textures and designs there's definitely something for everyone. Their gold collection is my favourite consisting of high shine metallics, reptile prints, mesh and faux fur - what more could you want?! Mi-Pac arrived just in the nick of time as my trusty Longchamp shopper finally gave up on life! I took Mi-Pac for it's first outing at the weekend and totally fell in love with it. The shiny fabric makes this piece a stand out accessory, with a faux fur pocket and gold zips adding the perfect finishing touches. Fashionability meets practicality, as not only could I fit an extra pair of shoes inside, I also fit our picnic, my camera and lots more! This is definitely just the beginning of my Mi-Pac collection!

Which Mi-Pac is your favourite? Let me know below! x

Trench - H&M (similar here) // Camisole - River Island // Trousers - H&M // Sandals - Birkenstock
// Rose gold bracelet c/o Monica Vinader // Other jewellery - Various

Wide leg trousers have made a come back this season and I was eager to give the trend a try. I've never had the courage to wear them before, but I am officially converted! First of all, the mighty Gisele sold them to me on the H&M website and from then on they just kept popping up everywhere, a sure sign to go and purchase! (And for only £14.99 I couldn't not!) Initially I did feel like I was wandering around in my pyjamas, they are THAT comfortable! The fluid floaty fabric makes the outfit feel effortless, just how summer fashion should be. They are the perfect trouser for 'day to night', and will 100% be making their way into my Dubai wardrobe later this year. I kept my look clean and simple for work with a camisole, classic trench and Birkenstocks. I love how easily the trousers can be dressed up for an occasion too, I wore them with an espadrille wedge and statement necklace for a christening recently. On this occasion I chose minimal accessories to complete the look, including my stunning Monica Vinader rose gold bracelet, perfectly layered with silver bangles. I was so excited when the lovely Tania from Monica Vinader contacted me to send me a gift, I love discovering new brands and their jewellery is so so beautiful - Thank you!

Have you tried the wide leg trend? Hope you enjoyed my take on it! X

Inner Gypsy

Kimono - Simply Be (Similar here & here) // Cami & Shorts - Topshop (Similar shorts here) // Belt & Hat - H&M // Jewellery - Various // Sandals - Birkenstock // Bag - Urban Outfitters (Past season)

I like to keep my style versatile and I tend to dress according to how I feel on the day. Still in the festival mood I am channelling my inner gypsy in todays outfit. I love mixing prints, wearing free flowing fabrics styled back with silver jewellery. Loose fitting pieces are my favourite, they require minimal effort but often with maximum effect. This outfit was so easy to piece together and really comfortable to wear too, I've been getting plenty of wear out of my birks lately (a new colour arrived this morning!) For light summer layering you can't beat a kimono, I've had this one a few years now but there's so many gorgeous ones around on the high street, it's definitely worth a hunt in the sales! I get lots of comments on these Topshop shorts, I absolutely love them as the print is so striking! I bought them earlier this year but they have some left in a blue/green colour way although I think there's limited sizes now. For more print clashing I dug out this Aztec shopper I bought in the Urban Outfitters sale last year, it's the perfect summer bag! Have you been sale shopping yet? River Island was dangerous!

Hope you enjoyed todays post and thanks so much for reading! x
