Snakes & Leopards

I have recently come to realise that I have a bit of a thing for coats, to say the least! This one from Zara is a favourite of mine and I luckily found it in the sale last year. Now the weather seems to be perking up a bit I've dug it back out of my wardrobe. I tend to keep the rest of my outfit simple with this coat so I opted for red lips and nail polish to add some colour!

Keeping it simple I wore a cropped fluffy knit with a high waist skirt. I don't wear skirts as often as I'd like to but I find this one really flattering and easy to wear. The wrap detail and jacquard snake effect adds that little bit extra to the outfit.

To beat the chill I wore tights with my new favourite boots, I picked them out for my birthday and I've been dying to wear them ever since! I appear to be developing an unhealthy obsession for shoes as well as coats! In my defense, I have been looking for a classic boot that I can wear everyday for a while now and these are perfect. They have a chunky block heel with gold detailing, and added bonus - they're comfy too!

Hope you've all had a good weekend, mine involved lots of food, wine and sleep! x

Moroccan Vibes

Last weekend was my absolute favourite weekend of the year. Not only was it Valentines Day, but my birthday too (double whammy!) And to my absolute surprise and delight, my lovely boyfriend has booked us a city break to MARRAKECH!! I am too excited, I have wanted to visit Morocco for so long! I have already started planning what to wear as I know there are restrictions. I may even purchase my first ever pair of hareems...but I'm not sure how that will pan out just yet! I have a feeling my Moroccan wardrobe will consist mostly of maxi's and kimono's!

We will be staying in a beautiful traditional riad (above), right in the heart of Marrackech just moments away from the hustle and bustle of the city's square Jemaa el Fna. I can't wait to experience it! Our riad has a rooftop terrace so if the snake charmers and camels get too much, it's the perfect place to escape for some relaxation! One thing I am looking forward to the most is the souks, I'll be on the rummage for silver jewellery... I am what my boyfriend likes to call, a magpie!

If you have been to Marrakech and have any recommendations or tips please leave a comment and let me know! In the mean time here's some photo's I have gathered off Pinterest to keep me going until I am there to take my own! x

En Vogue

I just wanted to sing "Don't let go" when I spotted this sweater - in homage to En Vogue back in the day (despite being only 7 when it was released!) So with the song in my head, off I went to buy it! I never used to give River Island a second thought when shopping, I pictured everything with the RI logo branded across the front and that really put me off. But more recently I have been buying bits here and there and the new collection is looking really quite good - Not an RI logo in sight (well, almost!) This sweater is the perfect throw on for the in-between weather we're having at the moment, so I chucked on my favourite leather (I'm obsessed with fringing), ripped skinnies and ankle boots to complete the look.

Now, personally I'm a try-before-you-buy kind of girl. I hate the disappointment of lugging shopping bags home to find what you thought would look great simply doesn't. That said, I have been eyeing up the ASOS Ridley skinny jeans for a while now and finally decided to put my order in after having no luck on the high street. I opted for the high waisted ultra skinny style in washed black. They are available in lots of different waist and leg lengths rather than just the standard sizes which meant that I could buy a pair knowing that they'd be long enough (so I'd won half the battle before trying on - bonus!) I must admit they were a tight squeeze at first but it makes a change from my previous jeans which went baggy after a few wears, and I'll definitely be buying more!

Have you found the perfect skinny jeans? Leave a comment and let me know :-)

P.s Happy Valentines Day! x

Firstly, please excuse the coldness in my face, I WAS FREEZING! But I was determined to take a couple of snaps last weekend so hats off to the bloggers of the world that have braved the cold when all you wanted to do was stay in bed (that's how I felt!)

Secondly, whilst flicking through some magazines at the weekend I noticed HIGH-SHINE is back for Summer! So what did I do? I dug out my (highly) shiney shoes to celebrate! I bought these from H&M a couple of years ago but I don't think you will have a problem finding similar ones this season. Here's some I have come across already; Kurt Geiger, Zara, Topshop & Asos. It seems that metallics are a must-have for SS14! In an attempt to keep myself warm I wore my favourite Zara coat (it's sold out now, but check on eBay as I have seen some recently!) Underneath I wore my new knit from H&M, only £9.99! It's a basic wardrobe staple and I bought mine in a bigger size for a loose relaxed fit, perfect for a lazy cosy day!

Hope you have a great weekend! x
