Lust List

I have decided to try a different kind of post today, as working full time I find it pretty difficult to get out and shoot outfits as much as I would like! So, having found myself not the richest this month, I have put together a 'Lust List'. My list features just a few items that I have been seriously drooling over lately in hope that they may magically appear in my wardrobe! As you can see I'm a little obsessed with black, leather and animal (be it Winter or Spring!) What have you been lusting over this month? x

1. Leopard print heels from Senso (Available at ASOS) £178
2. Leather bucket bag from ZARA £159
3. Zebra espadrilles from Topshop £45
4. Suede fringe moccasin from Zara £59.99
5. Classic watch from Daniel Wellington £159
6. Strappy sandal from Marks and Spencer £29.50
7. Leather-look bracelet from H&M £5.99

If the coat fits...

Spring is well and truly here, I can't stop admiring the beautiful pink blossom trees that appear to have popped up out of nowhere, everywhere! Okay, so admittedly it is still a bit nippy out there but the Spring season requires new outerwear and that must be in the form of a trench (of course). Now, if I had the money, which I don't, Burberry would be the only place to shop for a true trench. However, I have seen many solid rivals on the high street.

At first, I found myself in a bit of a pickle on the H&M website as there were so many trenches at different prices, yet they all kind of looked the same - some were sale and some were not - confusing to say the least. So I nipped into store on my lunch break to see them in the flesh. Heartbroken, after trying two stores, I was about to give up! The only sizes left were a 16 or an 18, when I would normally wear a 10. You know that feeling when you really really want something that you just try it on in desperate hope that it will look okay even though it's way too big or small? Well I did, and GASP, "it fits!" I waited a minute whilst I pondered the fact that maybe I have put on some serious weight, but soon enough I was at the till, trench in hand! Moral of the story, if it's too big try it anyway! For something like a trench, being over sized works in favour as it made it longer and more fluid in shape, I love how floaty it is too. I rolled back the sleeves as they were a little big but it looked great with the belt tied or just open and loose, the soft drapey fabric is perfect! You can shop my coat here and my shoes here. The shoes are so comfortable, as I'm pretty tall the heel height is just high enough to look good but without me feeling like the B.F.G! My dress and sunglasses are both from Topshop, and my watch is Michael Kors.

Hope you all have an EGGcellent Easter weekend and eat lots of chocolate!

P.s my mum took my photos, having never been able to take a straight photo in her life (sorry mum) how good did she do! x

Grey Matter

My love affair with H&M continues! As the weather remains unpredictable I wanted a finer knitwear piece that could take me through to Summer. H&M have quite a few on offer but I chose this one for the loose fit (good for layering) and I opted for grey rather than my usual black! I layered up the top over a basic jersey maxi dress, also from H&M. I love the side split details, they help to break up the grey with a little hint of leg! I chose my over sized denim jacket to add some colour to my outfit. It looks vintage with the wash and oversizing, I know I'll be getting more than my wear out of it this Summer, such an easy throw on! Just one of many items I am loving from Zara this season - not good for my bank balance!!!

THE bag, I literally couldn't wait to wear, one of my Moroccan purchases! It's handmade leather with beautiful detailing such as old coins and the hand of Fatima (for protection). It was so nice to meet the person who made it and see them busy at work in the souks, I ended up buying another two which I'm sure I'll be featuring on my blog over Summer! Keeping it casual I finished off the look with my New Balance, still the best trainers I own.

Hope you enjoyed the post, have a lovely weekend! x

Marrakech baby!

Last week I was lucky enough to be whisked away to Marrakech on a city break for my birthday. I could write forever about our amazing time there but I'm going to try and keep it fairly short and sweet! Marrakech is such a magical happy place, you can see it in the faces of the locals! We spent hours getting lost in the souks negotiating prices on handmade leather handbags and silver jewellery! We were invited into little shop, poured cups of sweet mint tea, whilst the shopkeeper rummaged around for the best goods he could find, at a "good price" of course! I'm in love with the Moroccan architecture and design paticuarly in a restaurant we ate at called Dar Essalam  which dates back to the 17th century. The live music and beautiful decor really summed up our visit to Marrakech. On top of everything else I loved about Marrakech was the food, it was delicious and so cheap! It's not often you go on holiday and feel like you're spending less than you would at home. We stayed at a stunning Riad in the medina, Riad Dar Alfarah which I would definitely recommend (pancakes and honey for breakfast every day what's not to love!) We arranged a trip up to the picturesque Atlas Mountains, followed by a visit to a Hammam, both incredible and unforgettable experiences that you must try if you get chance to visit Morocco! We also managed to visit the stunning 'Jardin Majorelle', which belonged to Yves Saint Laurent himself. It felt appropriate to take a couple of snaps here for my blog with the history and creativity that the gardens hold. The gardens were filled with cobalt blues and brights yellows with palm trees and cacti everywhere, as well as a beautiful water lily pool. If you follow me on Instagram you will have no doubt seen some snaps already!

I'd be more than happy to share our full experience and any recommendations to those of you that may be planning a trip to Marrakech, just leave me a message/email and I'll answer any questions! But for now, here's what I wore to YSL.
