Marrakech baby!

Last week I was lucky enough to be whisked away to Marrakech on a city break for my birthday. I could write forever about our amazing time there but I'm going to try and keep it fairly short and sweet! Marrakech is such a magical happy place, you can see it in the faces of the locals! We spent hours getting lost in the souks negotiating prices on handmade leather handbags and silver jewellery! We were invited into little shop, poured cups of sweet mint tea, whilst the shopkeeper rummaged around for the best goods he could find, at a "good price" of course! I'm in love with the Moroccan architecture and design paticuarly in a restaurant we ate at called Dar Essalam  which dates back to the 17th century. The live music and beautiful decor really summed up our visit to Marrakech. On top of everything else I loved about Marrakech was the food, it was delicious and so cheap! It's not often you go on holiday and feel like you're spending less than you would at home. We stayed at a stunning Riad in the medina, Riad Dar Alfarah which I would definitely recommend (pancakes and honey for breakfast every day what's not to love!) We arranged a trip up to the picturesque Atlas Mountains, followed by a visit to a Hammam, both incredible and unforgettable experiences that you must try if you get chance to visit Morocco! We also managed to visit the stunning 'Jardin Majorelle', which belonged to Yves Saint Laurent himself. It felt appropriate to take a couple of snaps here for my blog with the history and creativity that the gardens hold. The gardens were filled with cobalt blues and brights yellows with palm trees and cacti everywhere, as well as a beautiful water lily pool. If you follow me on Instagram you will have no doubt seen some snaps already!

I'd be more than happy to share our full experience and any recommendations to those of you that may be planning a trip to Marrakech, just leave me a message/email and I'll answer any questions! But for now, here's what I wore to YSL.

    1. Thank you lovely, we actually arranged our trip through our riad where a driver picked us up and drove us up the mountain stopping any where we wanted and then when we got to the main area we picked up a tour guide there. Literally just one of the local boys from the Berber village in the mountains and he took us through the mountain up to the waterfalls! It was a lot of fun! The hammam was L'Alhambra here's the website http://www.lesbainsdelalhambra-marrakech.com/?lang=en our riad recommened it to us also and it was amazing, I felt like a princess!! Hope you have an amazing time, happy to answer more questions if you have any! xx
